Job description / Role
The Public Relations and Social Media Specialist will create and distribute engaging content via traditional media relations and social media platforms. As part of the Corporate Communications Team, the Public Relations and Social Media Officer will contribute to creating and implementing an integrated marketing and communications strategy. This role will be responsible for developing effective relationships with media (online and offline) and leveraging these contacts to spearhead opportunities to raise our public profile and enhance our reputation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or marketing
• A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an agency or corporate setting
• Demonstrated proficiency with PR and social media practices
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills
• Outstanding analytical and presentation skills
• Ability to effectively balance strategic thinking and execution in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization and impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to use sound judgement and communicate responsibly in the event of a crisis situation
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
• Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
• Must display strong team orientation and promote team culture.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills and listening and communications skills with ability to extract information and develop it into compelling and engaging pieces
