Process engineering specialist – senior role in oil & gas projects

Step into a pivotal role with a leading oil & gas operator in Qatar as a process engineering specialist. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to drive the successful execution of complex brownfield projects by applying your expert knowledge in process engineering. You will play a key role in aligning engineering activities with regulatory standards, project goals, and company philosophies, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners. Your expertise will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards, directly contributing to the operational excellence and strategic success of the organization.

Required skills:

• Proven expertise in process engineering within the oil and gas sector
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex engineering issues efficiently
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to process design and analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to develop and update policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with project and regulatory requirements
• Experience coordinating with external contractors, FEED and EPC teams, ensuring alignment with project specifications
• Capability to plan, organize, and monitor project phases to meet deadlines and budgets

Nice to have skills:

• Prior experience in brownfield project execution and managing multi-disciplinary engineering tasks
• Familiarity with project management systems and standards in oil and gas projects
• Leadership experience supporting and mentoring junior engineers and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and environmental standards in Qatar

Preferred education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably process engineering or related discipline)
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 4 years in a lead or senior process engineering role

• Ability to work within a multinational team and liaise effectively with external stakeholders
• Willingness to adhere to project schedules with an anticipated start date in 2026
• Flexibility to comply with company policies and potentially adapt to varying project phases and demands
