Procure to Pay Analyst - Temporary, Non-sponsored

Job description / Role

The Procure to Pay Analyst will be responsible for performing the purchasing and payable processes ensuring full compliance with the policies and procedures of the university, including the use of appropriate and existing financial controls.

As this position is based in Doha, Qatar and offers no relocation assistance, GU-Q is looking for locally based candidates only. This is a temporary, non-sponsored position that requires all applicants to already have the necessary sponsorship to live and work in Qatar. The preferred start date will be in May, 2018 and the contract's duration will be 6 months.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the Purchase Order initiating activity: check validity of requests to purchase, obtain any additional necessary paperwork, manage any noncompliance requests and assist in the supplier sourcing as necessary
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of Purchase Orders and AP invoices in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Complete Purchase Order files, performing price analysis and receiving appropriate approvals
- Maintain Procure to Pay paid files and documentation in accordance with policy and accepted accounting practices
- Communicate Procure to Pay policies and procedures to suppliers, faculty, staff and other stakeholders; respond to their inquiries
- Ensure proper month-end accounting cut-off of Procure to Pay transactions
- Reconcile supplier statements; research and correct discrepancies
- Assist in the year-end audit and other Finance activities/projects including process improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in the Finance Office, preferably in a university setting
- Accuracy, attention to detail and strong computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines
- Strong prioritization and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Knowledge of WorkDay preferred
- Fluency in Arabic an asset
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
