Job description / Role
Client is a leading British international architectural consultancy that is currently seeking an excellent Urban Designer for a Project Management position on a large Ministry of Municipality and Environment project here in Qatar.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will 15 years’ experience and have in-depth knowledge of Qatar, having worked on large-scale master planning, urban planning, urban design projects. You will know about the current urban design/planning challenges faced in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have experience of working to resolve major urban issues, such as degraded public realms, sprawling highways, etc.
You will have worked on Projects addressing challenges ranging from designing for compactness and density, mixed-use developments and convertible buildings, residential neighbourhood design, etc. Looking for candidates that have addressed these challenges on a strategy and policy level.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the preparation of guidelines and extensive documentation (knowing about local practices, Sharia laws, etc) and preferably worked on similar projects with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. You will need to have worked on design guideline documents as you will guide the content development team and sub-consultants, who are Environmental, Landscape, and Transportation.
