Job description / Role
Linum Consult’s client operates out of the Middle East. They are currently seeking a Project Risk Manager with a background in construction or property management to join their team in Qatar, with occasional travel across Africa and Asia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading the implementation of the risk management strategy to support the company’s business objectives and vision for their projects in Asia and Africa
• Establishing and quantifying the level of risk that the company is prepared to accept on a per project basis
• Promoting and applying the international ‘best practice’ for the identification, analysis, measurement, and evaluation of risks
• Promoting risk reduction methods
• Eliminating or reducing the potential impact of systemic and event-based risks to an acceptable level
• Documenting any risks that occur on your assigned projects with the relevant amount of damage or loss
• Developing periodic reports, including the annual risk review plans for the Risk Management Director
Requirements
• Degree qualification in Business Administration or similar, ideally with a master’s degree or MBA
• 8-12 years’ experience in risk assessment, with previous experience in construction risk, or real estate project risk
• Candidates will need to be hands-on and have come from either a PMC, Contractor or Consultancy background, with strong experience on mainly building projects and some experience in infrastructure
• Strong international experience, with a good understanding of regional-based risks, specifically within the Middle East, Asia, and Africa
• Fluency in English is essential, along with excellent communication skills. Any Arabic language skills would be a definite bonus
• Very strong teamworking skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
