Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsible for supply chain management, procurement and commercial management activities related to railway systems
- Responsible for administering the railway systems supply chain process
- Develop and implement railways supply chain strategy to support the Development Program
- Implement supply chain instructions, policies and procedures
- Vendor market canvasing strategy and planning, vendor market canvasing, develop vendor formation requirement such as joint ventures
- Develop Expression of Interest (EOI) requests, conduct EOI, evaluate EOI responses
- Interview vendors, vendor’s facilities and site inspection
- Manage prequalification process, review and verify JV agreements with support from Legal Department, develop vendors lists and vendors’ database
- Identify opportunities and lead efforts for cost reduction and increased efficiencies
- Identify and plan delivery timetables
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure targets are met and identify ways to improve the supply chain process with suppliers
- Provide technical advice on specifications supply and logistics arrangements to facilitate efficient procurement, clearance, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment
- Assess supply operations and control mechanisms and advise on appropriate actions
- Work with the Procurement Department, as required, and act as an adviser to the Commercial Department
- Design and conduct training for staff and counterparts in supply management, in order to improve supply delivery
- Ensure preparation of supply status reports required for budget reviews, programme analysis, annual reports, etc.

Requirements

- Degree in supply chain management or Engineering, Business, Commerce or similar
- Professionally accredited by RICS/CIPS/CICES or the like
- Minimum 12 years of experience in supply chain management for railway systems specialist knowledge of supply chain concepts, processes, activities and trends related to railway projects and major international infrastructure projects
- Experience with planning, forecasting and inventory management
- Experience of managing and developing complex contracts and relationship management with vendors
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in International / Middle East environment
- Experience working with FIDIC suite of Contracts
