Job description / Role
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in Qatar as a Public Relations officer.
The Public Communication/Public Relations Officer (PRO) forms an integral part of the project team, supporting the delivery of written and visual content and media, the provision of public information and data, community and stakeholder engagement and other social responsibility activities
Responsibilities and needed expertise are broadly defined hereafter but not limited to:
• Creation and management of beneficial stakeholder relationships with project area VIPs, businesses and residents, including proactive management and mitigation of issues and responses to customer complaints and feedback
• Co-ordination with internal departments to provide timely public notice announcements (such as road closures, outages, delays, openings and traffic diversions)
• Plan, attend and lead internal and external meetings with stakeholders regarding all external communications issues (including weekly project operations meetings, critical risk, site tours, openings and town hall meetings)
• Development and management of a stakeholder database and issue monitoring
• Creation of communication plans, strategies and campaigns to promote the E-Ring Road project amongst domestic and international audiences
• Source and create traditional and social media content
• Photography and video capture, management, permitting, quality control and archiving of visual documentation of the E-Ring Road project
Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations or a related field from an internationally recognised accredited university.
• Seven (7) years’ experience in a similar role working on communications activities
• Proven experience and results in managing highly diverse stakeholders and communicating with audiences in multiple languages.
• Preferably able to communicate in Arabic or proven experience in managing Arabic- speaking stakeholder representative.
• Demonstrable cultural understanding of the GCC
• Exceptional command of English language and grammar
• Experience managing the collection and creation of content, including writers, graphic designers, photographers and videographers
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
• A strong understanding of media relations, social media, internal communications, community relations and corporate social responsibility
