Purchasing Manager (Global Sports Event Qatar 2022 - Accommodation Services)

Scope of Position:

The key areas of responsibilities are to ensure that all items purchased throughout the project are through proper purchasing policies and procedures as outline by company standards. The Purchasing Manager will also be managing the receiving, storing, issuing and accounting for Finance materials and supplies. Assist the Group Director of Procurement in the control of all procured items and to maintain a fully computerized system for the administration of Procurement and Finance Maintenance systems.

What you will be doing:

- Implement sound purchasing policies, systems and procedures in accordance with Company standards
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Procurement Department in all aspects
- Research and development of new products and services for the project
- Establish contracts to ensure reduced pricing for all operating areas of the project
- Monitor vendors for quality, service and price through standard purchasing specifications
- Assist with Operating Capital Expenditures
- Receives proper purchase requisitions from Head of Departments.
- Calls for quotations for any items costing more than QR.500 and inquire into prices from various suppliers. A minimum of three independent genuine quotations must be obtained.
- Raises the local Purchase Order (LPO) in the name of the supplier selected.
- Carries out regular market survey prices of all items and services for the project by keeping constant touch with the suppliers.
- Follows up and ensures that goods are delivered in accordance with the purchase order and without any delay.
- Responsible for making sure that the administrative procedures relating to the purchase of goods are followed.
- Ensures that the suppliers follow the rules relating to hygiene of goods delivered.
- Keeps all records in a way that they can be checked at any time for information or audit purposes.
- Maintains all documents, files and listings up-to-date and performs his duties in the most efficient manner.
- Liaison with the Purchasing Supervisor, Receiving Agent, Stores Supervisor and Assistant Group Director of Procurement.
- Maintain spare part manuals, catalogues, and list of suppliers.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by department Manager.

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Minimum of 5 years management experience in Stores, Purchasing & Receiving, preferably within a luxury hotel environment
- University or College degree in a related discipline.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
- Ability to develop and build relationships and utilize skills appropriately
- Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system
- Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to work force
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
