Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance Lead role to join our team in Qatar. Below are more details about this role.
Provide support to ensure that quality activities are completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner. Assists in the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting on the status of quality management systems and activities, so that resulting actions are delivered effectively and business risks are mitigated or prevented.
Responsibilities
The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for:
- Promoting the awareness of quality management principles (including quality and MS inductions) and providing advice and guidance to peers and colleagues.
- Implementation of Quality Management System requirements as directed by their lead/manager, ensuring compliance with Wood Quality standard and/or ISO 9001 and other requirements.
- Planning quality activities to be performed and resources required to liquidate quality programmes in line with agreed budgets.
- Preparing and implementing quality plans in accordance with client and execution plan requirements.
- Attending kick-off meetings as required to provide quality support and advice on quality deliverables.
- Reviewing and approving product/material requisitions and validating quality control and certification requirements.
- Assigning and coordinating product/material inspection activities in accordance with purchase order, inspection and test plan and associated technical requirements.
- Planning, implementing and reporting on both internal and external risk-based audit programmes.
- Managing and analysing data arising from non-conformance and corrective actions.
- Providing input to and participating as required in quality management reporting and reviews.
- Working across functions to identify continuous improvement.
- Undertaking investigations of quality-related failures.
- Mentoring and developing quality resources.

Qualifications

- Degree/Diploma in Quality Management or related discipline.
- Membership of CQI, ASQ or other country equivalent (desirable).
- Quality Auditor qualification by recognised industry body.
- Minimum of 15 years previous quality experience (preferably in relevant industry equivalent).
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and application.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills and systematic thinking.
