Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

My client is a leading developer currently working on one of Qatar's largest and most high profile projects. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveying Manager to oversee the QS operation at the company. The role will involve;

• Lead and engage in setting quantity surveying policies and procedures in cost monitoring / control and reporting systems for.
• Review and finalize all quantity surveying reports and analysis required to do the billing for contractors, consultants and other third parties.
• Coordinate with the Contracts Manager in the setting up and management of the procurement strategy.
• Analyze blueprints, sketches and other documentation related to projects in order to prepare detailed time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
• Verify the accuracy of quantity surveying data including measurements and calculations conducted at surveyed sites (i.e. materials cost of installation…etc.).
• Conduct site visits (where necessary) to assess and record further details and verify information for project cost estimation.
• Conduct studies, research and analysis needed to minimize costs within the same level of quality in coordination with other functions.
• Conduct project cash flow analysis, prepare cash flow projections etc.
• Coordinate with Senior Design Manager, Senior Project Managers and others to develop standards and specification of the work to be carried out internally or with contractors.


Candidates should have a degree in quantity surveying or a related subject and should have proven experience as a quantity surveyor working on arge construction projects in the middle east. Candidates should be chartered and should have a background of working for consultancy's, project management company or developers and should have experience of leading a team of junior quantity surveyors.
