Employment: Full Time

This vacancy is with a European Technology Systems company who have successfully won and delivered expert design, Project Management and implementation components on some of the most prestigious construction projects in Qatar in recent years (Doha International Airport/ Hamad Port Project/ Sports Stadia etc). The company has technical expertise in consulting, designing, delivering and managing critical infrastructure projects where they integrate IT, security, communication, building management, automation, and command and control information systems.

Overall purpose of job:

• As a part of an Engineering Team, the successful candidate will support the bid, design, documentation and implementation of RFID projects.
• He/she must be able to gather and understand operational requirements, propose technical and commercial solutions; manage preparation of RFID tenders/bids, select RFID equipment, perform systems analysis or programming of radio frequency identification device (RFID), be able to work individually and on team projects and Field Devices from a variety of manufacturers, be able to work individually and on team projects; pitch developed solutions to Private and Governmental clients.
• Successful candidate will be required to travel for site surveys, site visits, customer meetings and there may be a need for this role to work from remote site office locations or client offices.

His/her responsibilities include:

• Participates in the Business Development and Technical Departments as part of the technical team that designs and delivers the technical solutions for the bid proposals and projects.
• Responsible for the design, architecture and cost estimate of technical solutions for bid proposals and projects for the technical field under his/her responsibility. Ability to generate alternative solutions with better costing structure with solid technical arguments.
• Perform site analyses to determine system configurations, processes to be impacted, or on-site obstacles to technology implementation.
• Participate in the setup, supervision and performance of the installation, configuration and testing & commissioning activities during project implementation if required.
• Select appropriate Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) tags and determine placement locations.
• Integrate tags, readers, or software in radio frequency device (RFID) designs.
• Test radio frequency identification device (RFID) software to ensure proper functioning.
• Train users in details of system operation.
• Communication & representation of the project to the customer and partners as required in coordination with his supervisor.
• Configuration management, project and system documentation.
• Provide technical support of radio frequency identification device (RFID) technology.
• Ensures compliance with company's quality policies and procedures for all activities under his/her responsibility.
• Investigate and develop skills in new technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of eight to ten years’ experience in engineering and working with RFID solutions.
• Experience in RFID software as well as familiarity with brands/Vendors such as Zebra, Borda, litum, Versus, AeroScout, AirFinder etc.
• Experience designing RFID systems.
• Experience in creating requirements documents, project plans.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Work well under pressure, well organized, mentally tough; detail oriented, follows through and completes tasks; comfortable working with non-technical users.
• Previous experience in RFID solutions is mandatory. (Passive RFID, battery assisted passive, active RFID, Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS) etc).
• Proficient use of English in written and verbal forms.
• Candidates with experience in software program design and development in RFID applications will be viewed extremely favorably.
