Job description / Role
Linum Consult’s client is a major contractor, specialising in civil engineering and complex build projects. They are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join them in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing, updating and issuing a Risk register and a Risk Management plan
• Identifying, evaluating, monitoring and reporting on all major risk issues that could potentially impact the company
• Ensuring the company adheres to the international risk standard ISO 31000
• Managing the creation of a risk-aware culture by means of training programs and interdepartmental communications; measuring risk-based performance and incentives
• Attending management meetings as requested and addressing professional opinions from a risk perspective, ensuring that well informed decisions are made with respect to acquisitions, investments, divestitures, etc.
• Organising, supervising and delegating tasks to subordinates, overseeing their development and providing feedback and appraisals to senior staff members
Requirements
• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering from a reputable university
• 12 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry, specifically on road/infrastructure projects, of which ideally 3 years should have been in the role of Risk Manager
• Strong background of working for main contractors
• Must have knowledge of the international risk standard ISO 31000
• Fluency in both written and spoken English
