Rotating Equipment Engineer (Technical Support)

Job description / Role

Specific Role Purpose:

Supervises, plans, trouble shooting, provides technical support for the safe operation and maintenance of Rotating equipment like Gas Turbines and Compressors installed at the Qatargas Onshore facilities.

Specific Accountabilities:

a. Regular monitoring of gas turbine mechanical issue, discuss with operation regular discussion, support asset team for gas turbine related activity and regular basis. Discussing with CSA representative for completing the corrective maintenance job for the gas turbines.

b. Plan and execute all planned and unplanned gas turbine activity. Working with shutdown planning for regular updates about the planning and co-ordination with other team member of the department.

c. Quality control of all plan maintenance activity for Gas turbine and compressor mechanical jobs and refurbishment activity at OEM workshop.

d. Regular follow-up of all gas turbine mechanical activity and co-ordination with asset and GE CSA team. Involve on technical meeting for discussing all the technical issues related to gas turbine. Review RM&D notification and inform to operation, asset maintenance, GE for corrective recommendation.

e. Perform Preventive Maintenance Activities as per SAP PM Frequency including all reservation of gas turbine related job materials requirement as per CSA requirement.

f. Implementation of EMOC recommendations.

g. Provides assistance to asset mechanical group in troubleshooting and rectifying gas turbine and compressor related problems.

h. Review and prepare all documents like job cards, JSA, quality check list for gas turbine and compressor jobs.

i. Plan and prepare all the spares and special tools require for the planned maintenance activity.

j. Review Availability of Spares and raise Stock Amendment Request (SAR) as per requirements for all critical rotating equipment.

k. To identify the System obsolescence and raise EMOC for up gradation well in advance.

l. Tracking all the turbine related components repairing and parts tracking as per the company requirement.

m. Support for Management of Change feasibility study by providing system inputs.

n. Participate in Root cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Risk Assessment, HAZOP study and provide necessary data for this Analysis.

o. Participate in internal and external Audit and close out of Action items.

p. Provides facility for technical training and coaching of mechanical technicians and Qatari National Developers for rotating equipment.

q. Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to his job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.

r. Undertakes similar or related tasks as directed by Supervisor.

Requirements

a. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
b. Minimum 4 years' experience as Rotating Equipment engineer for LNG plant or Oil and Gas plant. Ideally working in LNG plant.
c. Hand on experience on Gas turbines major overhauling of Fr 52, Fr 6 and Fr 9 preferred.
d. Sound knowledge on Gas turbine and compressor auxiliary system.
e. Experience of compressor, DGS, pump maintenance is added advantage.
f. Knowledge of SAP system, office software like MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
g. Good written and spoken English. Good presentation skills.
