Our client is a marketer and distributor of building products across the GCC for building materials, hardware and electrical products and are a subsidiary of a large GCC holding group. Their product range comprises rebar, steel, wood, electrical and aluminum products. They now seek to recruit a Sales Representative – Building Products to manage the sales and distribution of building products for the Qatar market.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role is responsible for the following:

• Business development of building products (rebar, wood, steel, electrical products, hardware, aluminum and insulation) for commercial, industrial and residential projects for construction companies and relevant contacts.
• Plan, locate and establish contacts with new customers primarily contracting companies.
• Obtain relevant documentation, review, prepare and propose a suitable materials and quotation.
• Prepare sales quotations in line with the company pricing policy and propose recommendations to the Sales Manager for final approval.
• Organize follow-up visits and report weekly in writing on sales activities and the status of pending projects.
• Internal sales meeting on a weekly basis to validate the sales strategy, refine tactics, exchange information and plan for next actions.
• Update the sales forecast monthly to ensure that inventories and capacities are adequate.
• Report all relevant market information collected during sales meetings in relation to competition, projects and prices.
• Participate in determining sales objectives and budgets and ensure that sales targets are met.
• Propose new product development and suggest improvements.

Requirements

The attributes we seek comprise:
• Tertiary qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the sale of building materials within the GCC market.
• Superior organizational abilities, problem solving and attention to detail.
• Experienced in the development of new clients within the construction sector.
• Strong communication and presentation skills and effective selling and negotiation skills.
• Computer Proficiency in MS Office to Advanced level.
• Bilingual in English and Arabic
