Your role as a secondary art teacher
At Newton, teaching art means more than technique, itu2019s about helping students develop their creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation of culture and self-expression.
You will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons based on the British curriculum
- Foster creativity and innovation through practical and theoretical work
- Support students in developing technical skills and personal artistic style
- Promote critical thinking and reflection through art history and contemporary practice
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
- Support student wellbeing through strong pastoral care and positive relationships
What weu2019re looking for
We seek educators who are:
- Experienced in teaching art within the British curriculum for a minimum of 5 years
- Qualified with a bacheloru2019s degree in art, art education, or a related field (masteru2019s preferred)
- Holders of a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Passionate about student-centred, inclusive education
- Strong communicators with excellent classroom management
- Committed to continuous professional development and growth
