Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Provides administrative management of campus security officers which includes oversight of all security operations at the assigned campus
• Prepare and reconcile budget for security, parking.
• Provides on-the-job training to Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
• Train and orient hospital departments, medical office building staff and satellite office staff on Fire Safety, and Security Department procedures and policies.
• Train and orient departments including medical office building staff and satellite office staff on fire safety, security and emergency management.
• Distributes information regarding revised policies, procedures and/or equipment updates to Security Supervisors and all Security Officers.
• Manage the Access Control system and badging procedures.
• Emergency Management Coordinator
• Oversee fire drills in the hospital, MOB’s and satellite campuses. Perform educational updates on fire policies.
• Perform disaster drills routinely for hospital personnel and ensure that all Emergency Management policies are being followed.
• During all disasters, internal or external, liaison in the command center for safety and security.
• Maintain Matrix for fire drills and maintain inspection log for Interim Life Safety Measures.
• Schedules and assigns shift personnel by assessing workload including required patrols and special details or events. Requests additional Officers from the System Director, when required.
• Conducts on-the-job training and educates shift personnel in policies, procedures and equipment techniques or operation.
• Schedules vacation and leave time for shift personnel ensuring adequate coverage.
• Responds to all emergency codes including Code Red fire alarms, Code Pink alarms, and other emergency needs.
• Completes Performance Appraisals; on a daily basis, keeps Director informed of shift activities.
• Initiates progressive corrective interventions, as necessary and recommends disciplinary actions for infractions of policies, rules and procedures by shift personnel.
• Attends management-training programs.
• Keeps hospital based Sr. Leadership team up to date on all security and emergency preparedness related concerns in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum a 3 year degree and/or diploma in Criminal Justice, Hospital Administration or related field from a reputed university.
• Five years’ experience in hospital safety and/or security management.
• Trained in principles, techniques, and skills for recognizing, reducing, and managing violent and aggressive behavior (MOAB).
• Vast knowledge of technologies specific to security management, such as infant abduction systems, various camera technologies, access control technologies, and panic alarm technologies.
• Experience in Emergency Management.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Proficient in using MS Word, MS outlook and MS excel.
