Job description / Role
Currie & Brown has a range of opportunities within the Middle East region and is currently seeking Senior Claims Consultants to work on an infrastructure project in Qatar.
You will be reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager and responsible for an area or a programme of post contract administration for all contractor and consultant contracts.
You will work alongside a forensic planner/delay analyst to the various claims submitted by the relevant contractor and/or consultant for prolongation, and compensation (if applicable).The evaluation will be presented in fully detailed written reports.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing contractual claims arising from the execution of contracts in an ethical manner at all times in accordance with procedures.
- Preparing high quality recommendation reports.
- Developing and executing processes and procedures to anticipate, and where possible, mitigating, handling, advising on all aspects of contractual claims.
- Delivering the services as set out by the terms of commission appointment
- Adhering to Corporate Social Responsibility
- Interfacing with all teams in line with overall program deliverables.
- Identifying and assisting in the preparation of proposals for new opportunities for Currie & Brown
- Representing Currie & Brown in a professional and business-like manner at all times
Requirements
- Must hold a relevant degree and must be professionally qualified to MRICS level. Ideally have MCIArb status with (or working to) LLM or MSc in Construction Law.
- At least 15 years’ post graduate experience within the construction industry and at least 5 years’ experience in claims.
- Middle East experience preferred
- Have sound knowledge of the contract administration aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and utilities.
- Proficient in contracting principles and practices
- Expert knowledge in contract administration, VO’s, claims, procedures, payments
- Knowledgeable in contract negotiations
- Expertise in international forms of contract like FIDIC.
- Fluency in English language both spoken and written.
- Experienced use of MS Office.
- Preference will be given to native English speakers
