Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Client is a leading project maager compay who are currently working on the Qatar Economic Zones project and they are looking to recruit an experienced senior contract administrator.

The role will involve the following;
• Oversee all contract activities for assigned project.
• Interacts with the Client, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify, negotiate and ensure Client’s agreement of change orders, amendments and etc to protect the Company’s interests in respect of the financial and legal liability issues associated with changed scope or requirements.
• Collaborates with the Client to ensure proper support in proposal preparation, as well as contract negotiations and administration.
• Provide guidance and support to negotiation as well as management of key subcontracts.
• Negotiates the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients.
• Monitor performance of the project contract activities, analyze risk situations and take proactive control where required.
• Interface with internal functions to evaluate contract compliance; consolidate and coordinate the information with appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintains an active participation in related professional societies to keep abreast of relevant contractual issues.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Requirements

Candidates should have the following experience and skills;

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Solid experience in Contracts drafting and correspondences.
• At least 15 years of experience; 5 years working in a similar capacity handling large construction and infrastructure projects.
• Early careers in Quantity Surveying; Chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or other internationally recognized institutions preferred
• Experience handling multiple contracts at one time, interpreting contracts and dealing with claims and other contractual issues.
• Working knowledge of FIDIC and other international standards such as, NEC, JCT, ICE, EJCDC; pre- and post-award contract administration.
• Relevant work experience including extensive contracts administration, negotiation and claims management exposure.
• Has experience dealing with high value claims, dispute resolution, and arbitration
• Preferably have experience of working in the Middle East or Internationally with FIDIC and other international forms of contracts.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, report writing and communication skills.
