Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Consultant shall deploy the Key Personnel stated herein on a full time basis at the Authority’s premises in Doha.

Senior Contracts Expert shall have the following qualifications
• Holds a B.Sc. degree in Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Construction/ Law.
• Candidates with MSc. / LLM degrees will be strongly preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of prime contract administration and management experience within large international engineering and construction firms with at least 10 of them working in a similar capacity at governmental or semi-governmental institutions (acting as the ultimate Buyer) supporting large construction and infrastructure projects.
• Excellent command on the English language.
• Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or other internationally recognized institutions required.
• Fellow members (FCIArb / FRICS) will be strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge on the FIDIC Suite of Contracts (and other similar suites which
• are based thereon).
• Working knowledge on other major suites of contract such as NEC, JCT and ICE.
• Familiarity with the Law of Qatar is a must, and civil / common / sharia law is a plus.
• Experience with track record on dealing with high value claims, dispute resolution,
• Mediation / adjudication / arbitration on both construction and infrastructure projects and preferably have experience of working in the Middle East or Internationally with FIDIC and other international forms of contracts.
• The ability to work as part of a specialist team, combined with the self-motivation required to work with minimal supervision and have experience of running multiple contracts at any one time, interpreting contracts and dealing with claims and other contractual issues.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity (preferably with experience at governmental organizations in the Middle East) is required as well.
