Senior Cost Consultant

Job description / Role

Sector: Rail

A Senior and demanding role working as part of a multi disciplined PMO function working closely with the clients team on a major new build rail scheme.

The role will include cost reporting, cost monitoring and forecasting advice for the Programme.

The role will also include providing cost analysis and cost report analysis for trends, risks and opportunities.

The other major aspect of the role is to provide expert advice on cost and budgeting issues related to current projects to relevant parties, conducting analysis of actual performance against the plan.

Requirements

- Major Programme and PMO (Project/Programme Management Office) Experience
- Good understanding of construction industry forms of contract
- Extensive Experience in the rail/metro sector - at least 3 years on major rail or station programmes
- Good negotiation skills
- Demonstrable relevant experience to match the requirements of the role
- Educated to degree standard in related subject with at least 14 years post graduate experience
- Previous experience working with leading international programme management consultants or working for the client in a PMO environment
- Membership of a relevant professional institute, chartered status preferred but not essential
