Senior Cost Engineer

Job description / Role

Key responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures and schedules, and track progress against milestones.
Create, maintain, and update project schedules, allocating resources, manpower, and equipment efficiently.
Monitor project timelines to identify potential delays and propose solutions.
Analyze project specifications to estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources.
Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates and budgets, considering risks and project complexities.
Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Implement cost control measures to optimize project spending.
Identify and assess risks that could impact project timelines or budgets, developing mitigation strategies.
Prepare and present regular progress and cost reports to stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards.
