Job description / Role
Wood is currently hiring a Senior IM Engineer to join our team in Qatar on the Shell GTL project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thoroughly understanding and experience of CFIHOS standards.
- Meeting requirements and completing deliverables per the IMIT Scope of Work, Contract Information Specification and project Design and Engineering Practices (Ex: DEP 82.00.10.30 Engineering Information Specification).
- Execution of tagging and reference data management processes throughout its lifecycle in Wood's Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW) for Qatar Shell GTL projects Portfolio and other Wood projects in Qatar compliant with the IMIT Scope of Work, CIS and COMPANY Tagging Philosophy and Specification.
- Leading the process of existing tagged items maturation, tag syntax and attributes validation. Supervision and ongoing assurance of checked-out tags throughout their lifecycle, and preparation for updated data submission upon checking in back to the COMPANY's tag data repository.
- Regular preparation and progressive submission of new tagging data to COMPANY. In consultations with Portfolio engineers and the COMPANY, analysis and incorporation of the COMPANY's feedback.
- Ownership of the COMPANY's Class Library (aka Reference Data Library) change management process, tag masks, properties lists, inheritance rules, property value picklists and units of measure. Together with and on behalf of the Portfolio engineers, analyze and formulate requests for clarification (Technical Queries) and change requests (Technical Deviations). Articulate these to the COMPANY engineers and implement the changes as approved by the COMPANY. Convey the clarifications to the Portfolio engineers.
- Ownership of ongoing data quality and maturity assurance process, aimed in particular at consistency and completeness of the data.
- Ensure Data consistency and completeness across all sources.
- Data extraction from EDW and its consolidation for reporting purposes. Preparation of dynamic reports and further engagement with Wood BI group over reports publishing.
- Data requirements communication with vendors. Import of vendor data into EDW, its validation and feedback. Running exports of relevant data for vendors and contractors to assist their work.
- Import of data from engineering authoring tools and non-intelligent data sources into EDW, and feedback to the master data source
- Responsible for building up and validation of technical references (tag-to-document, tag-to-tag, child tag-to-parent tag, document-to-document) in EDW. Executing data scraping from non-intelligent data sources (such as drawings) if needed.
- Conducting Aveva Unified Engineering and AVEVA NET user training for the QSGTL and other projects.
- Produce KPIs per COMPANY requirements (ex: progress, consistency, completeness, etc.).
- Ensure compliance of vendors and other 3 rd parties with all deliverables and requirements.
Aveva Engineering Responsibilities:
- Setup, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Engineering Data Warehouse (Aveva Unified Engineering)
- Main focal point for execution of Compare & Update tool between Aveva Engineering, Aveva E3D and Aveva Diagrams
- In Aveva Engineering, design dbview (grid views), technical datasheet entry forms, and data maturity and completeness reports
- Producing reports and/or runs interfaces between data management and engineering applications. Knowledge of PML would be an advantage
- Develop, implement and maintain ASSAI API interface application in order to support automatic transfer of the documents/metadata to COMPANY.
Requirements:
- Project Engineering environment and awareness of the associated business processes.
- Project Data Control and relevant processes, familiar with data-modelling methodology.
- IMIT Scope of Work, Contract Information Specification, Reference Data Library, DEP Engineering Information Specification (EIS), 3D DEPs, etc. and the related documents.
- COMPANY Tagging Philosophy and Specification
- Information aspects of all project DEPs.
- Engineering applications in terms of data content, for example sparing, computerized maintenance management, etc.
- Proven experience in Aveva Unified Engineering suite
- Knowledge of Aveva ISM class library management tool
- Optional experience in use of Compare & Update tool
- Optional experience in building PowerBI report
- Data scraping experience
- Knowledge of PML and Dabacon is an advantage
Experience:
- Previous Capital Project experience
- Previous experience as a Data Controller.
- Previous experience managing data through the project lifecycle including as-building process.
- Previous experience of working with an Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW)
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills
- Both team and standalone working mode is expected with minimum of micromanagement
- Strong in delivery through others
- Perfect English and soft skills
