Senior Design Manager

Job description / Role

Senior role working for a Design, Project and Development Management consultancy who work on some of Qatar's leading building projects including hotels, high rise, retail malls, and parks. This role is a key role working on a mega project and ensuring client relationships are established in order to understand their objectives.

Develop design alternatives to achieve either a design vision or client's stated objectives. Lead and communicate design directives to design team. Managing the complete design process and coordinating with all consultants and contractors as required. Ensuring the clients design is delivered and any changes are effectively communicated

As Senior Design Manager you will be responsible for managing and leading high profile consultancy teams whilst liaising with the commercial departments, design consultants and contractors. The successful candidate will come from a design background and will have progressed into a Project or design Management role and be used to taking a lead role on major projects.

They will be client focused with an excellent track record. The role is on a stadium and as such major stadium experience is an essential requirement, applicants that don't demonstrate design experience on a major stadium will not be considered for this role.

Requirements

- Degree Qualified in Architecture
- 15 Years post graduate experience
- Ideally a post graduate qualification in Project Management
- Strong design management experience on major projects either with a Project Management consultant, Client side or with an Architecture firm
- Ideally from an architecture background and moved into design and project management
- Extensive Knowledge of Design Management.
- The project is a Stadium Project and stadium project experience is essential
- Ability to manage stakeholders at a senior level.
- Proven track record of developing and managing excellent client relationships
- A stable track record is important alongside the possession of excellent design management and communication skills.
