Senior Engineer - Cable

Looking for a Sr. Engineer-Cable with a successful record in the delivery of power projects as Owner's Engineer (OE) during design, construction and commissioning for a power project to be based in QATAR.

The project scope includes detailed design, construction, and commissioning of a substations including 400kv, 220kv, 132KV and 33KV across a number of packages.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
* Will be responsible for coordinating all cable related activities from start until completion (from design stage until energization) with all parties involved.
* Being responsible to establish document procedures, verify the design submitted by the contractor.
* Design review of underground cables distribution networks, investigation & review of layout of underground cables drawings, circuit diagrams etc.
* Preliminary and final design, witnessing of factory testing, insulation, and fittings. Route section.
* System design and basic data determination. Investigation of existing underground cables, coordination and interface meetings, project progress report meetings, prepare correspondence, checking works progress, clearing of red mark-up drawings and as-built drawings, along with defect list clearance.
* Responsible for site supervision team

Requirements

* Recent experience of Design, route survey, installation of EHV/HV & Distribution XLPE Cables & Terminations.
* More than 15 Years of Experience - Design Review Knowledge.
* Should have worked for a minimum of 10 years in the capacity of senior engineer level in the relevant field and should have worked for major projects of substation & transmission systems (132kV/220/400kV systems) involving design, inspection, erection and commissioning & testing of GIS, circuit breakers, transformers and all auxiliary systems of substation etc.
* Must be fully conversant / referred all relevant international standards and shall have working experience in ISO 9000 systems.
* Shall have experience contract procedures, technical specifications, bid evaluation, and similar.
* Should have experience in factory inspections, material selection, route selection, investigation of existing transmission structures and able to evaluate required technical solutions.
* Bachelor Degree from Recognised University
