Senior Internal Auditor - Commercial - Qatar Airways - Doha

A fantastic and rewarding opportunity has become available to work in the Internal Audit team of Qatar Airways.

Reporting to the Manager Internal Audit, this role is responsible for delivering audit assignments per internal audit standards and methodology, in a timely manner, ensuring due diligence in the process.

The role would also be required to advise the Manager Internal Audit on key risks noted in business units especially those falling under airline commercial areas at HO, Outstations, Subsidiaries, branches or other business processes which are delegated to Senior Internal Auditor for audit reviews.

Key accountabilities of the role:
- Manage audit assignments independently and ensures completion in set timeframe;
- Understands business process under review; documents audit findings in detail and performs risk assessment to identify key risks to the process / area;
- Establish contact with Auditee management for an audit review and chalk-out scope clearly;
- Responsible for breaking down the scope into individual areas, and document responsibilities area-wise;
- Ensure preliminary activities & pre-assessment questionnaires / details are collected & analysed;
- Prepare planning documentation leading to memorandum that is relevant to business and meets audit objectives;
- Responsible for completion of field-work, optionally with assistance from Auditors/team members as is applicable based on team composition;
- Ensure audit files are complete in all respects and all work-papers are fully referenced & cross-referenced
- Ensure all KPI’s are met 100% consistently without deviations;
- Regular follow-up on audit findings for closure and provide inputs for recommendation tracking updates;
- Any other duties, special assignments and/or reviews as required by Internal Audit Leadership team (Manager Internal Audit, Senior Manager Internal Audit and VP Internal Audit);
- Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the head of the department
- Review work of the Auditor, if assigned to assist in audit assignment;
- Effectiver manage one direct report (Auditor) and provide feedback to Manager Internal Audit for any development activities of Auditor
- Ensure all aspects of assignment are completed with-in stipulated timelines and all deliverables, including but not limited to fieldwork, internal discussions, draft report, interim reviews and final reports meet the timeframes;
- Keep the assigned Manager Internal Audit fully advised on audit status, including material findings if any.

Requirements

You will have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years solid post qualification experience gained from a commercial environment within an airline, including a good understanding of sales and revenue management processes. Ideally you will have a Masters in Business Administration and/or IATA Certifications related to Airline commercial operations

Exposure to airline Reservations and ticketing, Global distribution systems, pricing strategies, fare filing processes is highly preferred.
