Senior Landscape Architect

Position Overview:
This position will provide technical back-up to the Project Manager and coordinate public realm design services and supervision. The role includes technical evaluation of third party design consultant submissions including all landscape design elements and master planning projects; preparation of comment review sheets; coordination with other members of design team; preparation of reports for Client; monitoring and evaluation of tender documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop new or proved theories, policy and methods for landscape planning, design and management and review landscape master plan. Assist the design consultant to develop conceptual soft and hard landscape proposals through the design process to Information for construction.
• Prepare design impact assessments, conduct environmental and landscape assessments including environmental and visual impact assessments for development and ensure sustainability.
• Inspect sites, analyze factors such as climate, soil, flora, fauna, surface and subsurface water and drainage; and consult with clients and make recommendations regarding methods of work and sequences of operations for projects related to the landscape and built environment.
• Identify and support the development of appropriate solutions regarding the quality and use of the built environment in urban, suburban and rural areas and making designs, plans and working drawings, specifications of work, cost estimates and time schedules.
• Ensure designs/deliverables are compliant with scope of work and contract requirements, check QA/QC design deliverables for completeness, utilities coordination, clash analysis and Constructability.
• Lead, manage and coordinate the activities of all landscape planning and design projects including management of other consultants such as engineers, architects and planners.
• Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on all matters related to landscape architectural design.
• Provide regular reports and presentations on progress to the Principal Landscape Architect as necessary.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of related work experience in a comparable position in the GCC.
• Professional license is preferred.
• Experience on waterfront, public realm, resorts, commercial and mixed use projects.
• Ability to manage design and specialist consultants with strong experience/grasp of landscape architectural project management process.
