Our team is growing and we are currently seeking for a Senior MEP Engineer with Rail / Metro expertise in MEP Services and systems implementation. Covering Building Services, HVAC, BMS, and Specialist systems within a rail sector specific environment, also expertise in Testing & Commissioning to provide overall direction and management of completed construction projects.
This role is based in Doha, Qatar.
Duties and Responsibilities not limited to:
The Senior MEP Engineer will work with the Project Manager to ensure that the project operation parameters are well understood and delivered before handover to the client. Review and audit project specific plans and procedures in relation to pre- construction and delivery/ commissioning, start-up and performance testing of facilities.
Manage key tests for building systems, mechanical and electrical and ensures they are performing within design parameters. Responsible for following up on testing and commissioning instructions and commitments associated with the project.
Requirements
• Well experienced and good background in design & construction works mainly in Mechanical/HVAC/Fire Fighting Systems and also some knowledge in Electrical and LV systems.
• Well organized and has good ability to chair meetings and be able to manage very well any interface activities among contractors and stakeholders.
• Has the ability and experience in reviewing design, Construction and As Built MEP drawings
• Be able to lead and manage MEP team to quickly and accurately achieve the assigned tasks.
Required Experience
• Well experienced and good background in design & construction works mainly in Mechanical/HVAC/Fire Fighting Systems and also some knowledge in Electrical and LV systems.
• Minimum 10 to 12 years’ experience in MEP, with good knowledge in international codes and preferable also local applied codes and standards (QCS, QCDD FSS, MOI requirements).
• Has good experience in Testing and Commissioning of MEP systems with big and similar type projects, can be a lead in supervising such works and know how to manage and oversee such activities.
• Preferable to have experience, knowledge and familiarity in similar Metro projects also, has the capability and capacity to go through the project requirements and quickly understand very well the project and to make sure the Employer requirements are fully applied by the contractors.
• Preferably to have experience and knowledge in Fire fighting system and worked before in Qatar for at least one project in which he has dealt with local authorities (like QCDD) and knows their requirements and process to achieve their certifications.
• Either Electrical, Mechanical or preferably Electromechanical engineering degree and background with senior level.
