Senior Network Architect

OVERVIEW:
The Senior Network Architect position is responsible for making senior decisions with high levels of accountability within their area of expertise. He/she is responsible to produce documentation and recommendations for IT, & Senior Executives. He/she will also be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the architecture for the enterprise network and the operational processes to support availability, performance, and sustainability.
As a trusted partner to QF clients, the specialist will advance the technology landscape of the organization while architecting solutions and resolving problems. Will foster an environment and empowers teams and facilitate the development of the fellow team members while collaborating to deliver effectively.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the IT team on the development of frameworks and/or service models, platforms, designs, strategy, technology selection and/or business cases
• Creation or validation of SOWs, High-Level designs analysis and validate QFIT assets to support tender and projects requirements
• Can analyze requirements to determine potential Network solution designs, anticipated issues, and related operational costs in their area of expertise.
• Collect operational and trend statistics and to analyze performance results to validate
• solutions and or services
• Subject matter expert for enterprise networking, both cloud and on-premise.
• Technical advisor to the operations team, recommend enhancements to the enterprise network, including capacity and performance management.
• Propose solutions and review technologies which are fit for purpose
• Analysis and creation of technical artifacts for the enterprise network.
• Assemble technical requirements and formulate business cases, SoW, RFP documents. Provide input to the IT strategy and annual budgeting.
• Review and develop standards, procedures, and operational documentation.
• Analyze technical requirements and blueprints to determine designs, potential issues and related costs. Align all activities and deliverables to the enterprise architecture framework. Collaborate with the managed service provider and their resources, leveraging a solid understanding of troubleshooting techniques to recommend resolutions to issues.
• Assist to establish a customer experience strategy with cooperation from the organization and management teams.
• Collaborate to a high-level of professionalism, communication, coordination, and exemplary customer service principles.

• IP routing protocols: Static Routing, Segment Routing, BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast,
• BGP- EVPN, MPLS
• Network protocols including TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DNS, SIP, RTP
• Network infrastructure including DC Networks, WLAN, LAN, WAN, Routing, switching Network applications including VoIP, video, encryption, content delivery
• Network security including Next Generation firewalls, Web proxy, APT, ACL, IPsec, SSL/TLS
• Traffic management, Email Gateways, Load balancers
• Network features including HSRP.VRRP, LACP, STP, QoS, Load balancing and multicasting Physical ayer including Ethernet, optical DWDM, Global Ethernet and PRI
• Hardware experience including HP, Arista, Cisco, FS and Fortinet products
• Telephony including PSTN, voice and video over IP Enterprise/Service Provider Networks
• Network management tools and terminal iterate in Linux and Windows
• Expert understanding of data center infrastructure and operations. Extensive understanding of public cloud service offerings (laaS, PaaS, Saas)
• Comprehensive understanding of security, virtualization, cloud computing, business continuality and planning including disaster recovery.
• Comprehension of Cloud Governance Frameworks and Cloud Security best practices
• Familiar with agile methodologies Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent command of English combined with stakeholder management experience
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of relevant full-time work experience of IT and business/industry including solution design, lifecycle management, solution planning, and implementation
• Experience delivering solutions for estates with 5000+ end-users, in different geolocations
• 6 years of network installation, configuration, and support
• 4 years of Cloud hosted networks (Azure, AWS, Google, SoftLayer)
• Technical experience in migrating complex, multi-tier applications to hybrid cloud platforms
• 3 years of architecture and design experience
• Design experience on at least a single datacentres migration project to hybrid cloud Extensive experience to apply clear critical thinking in complex, stressful situations. Certifications and Accreditations that support the area of expertise
• IT industry standards and frameworks certificates such as ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, TOGAF
• Technology related certifications: Cloud, networking - CISCO, HP Aruba (design, internetwork, security solutions etc.)

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science /Engineer or equivalent work experience
