Senior Procurement Electrical Low Voltage (ELV) Engineer - Doha, Qatar

With continued project growth of our client’s firm, a general contracting Qatari conglomerate, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Electrical Low Voltage (ELV) to join their Procurement team for their major building projects in Qatar.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Ensure the procurement of required goods and services and ensures adherence to appropriate cost, quality and delivery requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement in the procurement strategy.
• Effective proactive liaison with departments to forecast, plan and supply demand to relevant quality.
• Providing advice on procurement strategy.
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
• Performing risk, value management and cost control.
• Negotiating and managing procurement contracts with suppliers.
• Manage vendor delivery and quality performance.
• Produce timely and accurate reports on suppliers’ performance.
• Preparation of procurement RFI’s packages for Industrial ELV systems.
• Review the design and supervise the following ELV Systems; CCTV, Access Control / Security, Fire Alarm, BMS, PA/VA, ICT Systems, Digital Score Board System, Telecommunication, Audio / Visual, Structured Cabling System, Wireless infrastructure and wireless access point.
• Reviewing shop drawings.
• Preparing material submittals.
• Preparing technical and financial comparison sheets.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 7-10 years’ site and procurement experience on significant building projects valued in excess of USD$100M; with experience on stadium, airport, seaports or similar projects preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills required.
• Sound knowledge of various contract forms such as FIDIC, etc.
• Keen understanding of FIFA and Ministry of Interiors (MOI) standards and requirements for stadium projects would be advantageous.
• Computer literacy essential.
• Experience working in Qatar and/or greater GCC is required.
