Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in engineering from a recognized university is required.
A higher academic qualification (Master’s degree) is an advantage.
Membership in a professional engineering or project management body (e.g. PMP, PMI, ICE) is a plus.
Experience requirements:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major EPIC offshore oil & gas projects.
Proven track record in delivering process and gas compression platforms, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and appurtenances.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, write clear reports, and give effective presentations.
Key responsibilities:
Project management & engineering oversight
Lead the engineering and project execution for process platforms/facilities in the BH Redevelopment Project, following QatarEnergy's Project Management Framework.
Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
Oversee preparation and implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and ensure alignment with project goals.
Planning & controls
Actively participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, contract management, and stage gate review processes.
Monitor overall project progress and initiate actions to address any delays or deviations.
Technical and contractual oversight
Ensure timely and quality technical reviews of design deliverables and engineering documents.
Participate in preparing scope of work, tender documents, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
Provide recommendations to tender committees on contract awards.
Contractor & vendor performance
Monitor the performance of EPIC contractors and vendors, ensuring their work complies with project specifications, standards, and schedules.
Address performance issues promptly, ensuring adherence to milestones and quality requirements.
Risk & interface management
Contribute to risk management by identifying potential risks, supporting mitigation planning, and ensuring proper closure of issues.
Coordinate and facilitate the management of interfaces between contractors, stakeholders, and project entities according to the approved Interface Management Plan.
HSE & quality compliance
Ensure all project activities meet QatarEnergy HSE standards and project quality requirements in close collaboration with QHSE teams.
Support safety initiatives and promote a safety-first culture throughout the project lifecycle.
Claims & variations
Assess and review contractor claims related to time and cost.
Recommend fair and justifiable settlements of final accounts, contract variations, and claims.
Project completion & handover
Ensure timely and systematic project handover to operations, including:
Lead the project close-out process ensuring all documentation and deliverables are finalized.
Reporting & mentoring
Prepare and present project progress reports for internal stakeholders and management.
Act as a mentor to Qatari associates, ensuring they receive structured training, development opportunities, and support to achieve their potential.
