Job Description:
• Management of Project objectives and goals amongst other things to ensure that targets are being met and progress is being delivered for Authority managed Projects.
• Responsible for the Project Management of Projects and Programme(s) of Works within various Sections.
• Responsible for the management and delivery of all Project technical, commercial, Project controls (including programme, planning, HSE, quality, risk, systems compliance) and other required disciplines necessary to ensure Authority goals are met.
• Ensure, review and where necessary draft recommendations or other documentation in processing requests for variation, addendum, extension of time, etc. in accordance with Authority policies and guidelines.
• Provide regular progress reports and elevate issues on behalf of the Authority.
• Provide progress reports as and when required.
• Convene and attend relevant meetings

Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure and review compliance with Project Management procedures and processes
• Liaise with heads of delivery teams and key stakeholders to effectively manage various Projects
• Coordinate with all relevant parties and representatives such as owners and legal authorities to minimize any disruption and ensure the completion of Projects on time and within cost
• Overarching responsibility for Project delivery across all disciplines (including technical, commercial, Project controls (programme, planning, HSE, quality risk, systems compliance etc.)
• Manage Senior Management Team meetings and strategic workshops
• Collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Escalate any issues on behalf of the Authority and collect and update periodic reports for the Projects and submit them to higher management to provide clear information on the status and extent of progress of work in the Projects
• Continually seek and capture lessons learned from the Project and use this intelligence to improve systems, tools and processes

Required Skills and Competencies:
• Minimum 20 years’ overall post graduate experience with expertise in deep tunnel construction. Extensive experience of marine projects preferred.
• At least 12 years’ experience with a Programme Management Consultant (PMC) organization or similar delivering large multidisciplinary infrastructure programmes.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must have knowledge of current technology and how it can be effectively utilised on the Project
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material procurement and Project Management principles
• Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary Projects involving civil, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical works.
• Knowledgeable in underground construction, health and safety, international codes, standards and guidelines. A “rounded profile”, with experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management analysis and commercial considerations
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to build and maintain excellent working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various Project stakeholders

Mandatory Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent
• Evidence of discipline specific professional qualification PMP or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Chartered engineer status from a recognised institution
• Driver’s License

Desirable requirements
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Arabic language skills
• Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
