Senior Structural Design Engineer

Job description / Role

• Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings, infrastructure, and specialized structures using appropriate design software and standards.
• Prepare and review detailed design calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure all designs comply with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), Ashghal standards, and relevant international codes (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocode).
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions with overall project design.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and support construction teams in resolving design-related issues.
• Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities as needed to obtain approvals and ensure design intent is maintained.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8–10 years of structural design experience, UPDA/MMUP Grade A or B certification
• ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of concrete and steel structures, foundation systems, seismic and wind load design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid QID and transferable sponsorship preferred.
