Senior Systems and Database Administrator

Job description / Role

Responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s enterprise information systems across both on-premises and Azure cloud environments. The role oversees Microsoft-based networks, Linux systems, and multiple enterprise database platforms while ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Key responsibilities include Active Directory administration, Azure cloud management, Linux system operations, database administration (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB), backup and disaster recovery, security implementation, monitoring, and capacity planning. The position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, customer focus, and leadership capabilities to guide projects and support internal and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory) in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in systems administration, cloud computing, or database management are highly preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in systems administration across Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise databases in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
• Mandatory hands-on expertise in:
o Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell
o Microsoft Azure (VMs, AAD, networking, storage, security)
o Linux administration across multiple distributions
o Database administration: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB
• Preferred certifications: Azure Administrator/Architect/Security, SQL Server certifications (MCSA/MCSE), Security+ or CISSP.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is an asset.
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments and familiarity with ITIL practices are highly desirable.
