Senior Utilities Engineer

Job description / Role

- Prepare utilities investigation report
- Prepare utility corridor layout
- Prepare utility corridor cross sections
- Prepare combined utilities drawings
- Prepare coordinated combined utilities drawing
- Coordinate/collaborate with other disciplines involved in utilities
- Prepare technical notes
- Prepare presentations to clients/stakeholders
- Liaise with client/stakeholders’ design reviewers to address comments and secure design approval.
- Provide updates to team lead or project manager on status of the design
- Provide feedback on resource requirements on assigned tasks

- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering at a reputable university recognized by MM Engineering Committee of Qatar.
- Must have MM Engineering Committee registration. Grade A is preferred.
- Must have 15 years’ experience, 10 years in utilities infrastructure design.
- Must be knowledgeable in the following design fields:
o Utility corridors layout and cross section
o Electrical network layout
o Telecom passive network layout
o Wet utilities network layout
o Clash Analysis
? Knowledge in the following fields is an advantage
o BIM
o Authority requirements for utility networks layout in Qatar
o MMIPD utility corridor guidelines
o Qatar Design Review System (QDRS)

- Knowledge in the following software is preferrable:
o AutoCAD
o Revit
o Navisworks Clash Detection
o MS Office word and PowerPoint

- Must have excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder coordination skills
- Must be well versed in preparing reports and technical notes on the above-mentioned design fields.
