We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Doha, Qatar for a:

Simops Supervisor

The Simops Supervisor is an advisor of the Simops process and is Permit to Work controller dedicated to the area under Field Operations responsibility within the Simops area.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Prepare and coordinate the daily meeting permit to work.
  • Maintain the Simops General / Follow-up dossier as per CP-NOC-063.
  • Populate and maintain the Simops follow-up dossier as per CP-NOC-063.
  • Assist Performing Authority and review any NOC PTW in the Simops area. The Simops Supervisor does not prepare PTWs on behalf of the Performing Authority.
  • Take part in every Permit To Work meeting related to activities in the Simops area.
  • Ensure the PTW register is updated by all parties requesting works under the NOC PTW system.
  • Ensure full compliance of PTWs with the agreed Simops matrix before opening PTWs (considering the very last update of activities in the Simops area).
  • Perform the ultimate coordination of works to avoid interference in the Simops area and notify the Operating Authority of any conflict he may notice with simultaneously opened Permits To Work.
  • Ensure that, prior to starting the works, precautions required from all disciplines (Field Operations and Drilling/Construction) are implemented.
  • Take part in Tool Box Talk for every critical activity.
  • Ensure the correct opening, suspension and cancellation of Permits To Work.
  • Ensure adequate handover of ongoing tasks takes place at shift or crew change and information is transferred as required between all shifts working in the Simops area.
  • Communicate daily with HSE-SA and HSE-SA-D (if nominated) all activities conducted under NOC PTW.

Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum higher secondary school education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).

Relevant work experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
