Employment: Full Time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Site Installation Inspector - Telecom is to monitor work carried out on various construction / Metro sites to ensure safety and quality is upheld and ensuring the installation reflects the approved design drawings. They will need to carry out regular inspections, checking quality of work, searching out any defects / snags, and then reporting all findings to the construction management team.

• Carrying out regular inspections on construction sites ensuring good housekeeping is kept at all times.
• Working with a host of operatives including engineers and supervisors.
• Monitoring systems installation process from start to finish.
• Checking quality of work.
• Ensuring installation and material usage follow approved design plans.
• Daily and weekly reporting to the construction management team.
• Checking for any snags / defects.
• Making sure building regulations and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
• Ensuring all works on site are carried out to an approved method statement.
• Making sure all documentation on site is approved and up to date.
• Able to monitor installation progress against programme making sure key milestones are hit.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous but not essential with good knowledge of Rail / Metro telecom systems with a minimum 3 years’ experience in installations on rail systems projects.
• Must be fluent in English with good written and oral communication skills.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Must be organised and have a practical approach to any issues arising on site.
• Must be familiar with different international standards relating to building regulations and H&S regulations.
• Management and negotiation skills – being able to effectively communicate with team members.
• Able to work with a range of multi-disciplined operatives / engineers.
• A good understanding of technical plans / drawings is essential.
• Must be able to endure being on site for several hours in very hot climate conditions.
