Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Software Engineer - 3 months contract

Key Skills Are:

• Experienced data analyst
• Experienced at analysing and joining data across multiple data sources (a range of systems and a range of formats, e.g. Oracle databases, text files etc.)
• Appropriately articulate at both technical and executive stakeholder level
• Experienced PLSQL coder
• Passionate and inquisitive
• Ability to identify and document options for analytical approaches
• Committed and dedicated to achieving results
• Pro-active self starter
• Experienced at planning and managing their own tasks, whilst reporting to and being accountable to project management
• Experienced at documenting their own operational process (including description of technical elements such as environment names, IP addresses, software versions etc.)
• Ability to learn how to query and export data from Software packages and data stores, transfer the extracts to the Dev environment and import them into Oracle for analysis
• Knowledge of scripting languages including Json, python, bash and shell (desirable)
• Familiar with JIRA and Confluence (desirable)
• Ability to manipulate and report data in Excel (optional)

Requirements

Main Tasks Are:

• Exploits appropriate methods, languages, libraries, tools, and techniques and applies these to tasks to realise the most effective outcome
• Ensures that all artefacts are produced to defined standards where standards exist, and to withstand professional scrutiny in any case
• Works as a member of a team, collaborating with other team members, and participates in technical discussions and conversations with customers
• Produces or validates the schedule and effort estimate for each task they perform
• Demonstrates skill and adeptness in team collaboration, technical discussion and negotiation
