Job description / Role

A leading British International School based in Doha, Qatar are looking for talented SENCO to join their school in September 2016.

The SENCO will assist in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil achievement and progression through effective inclusion for pupils with special educational needs in conjunction with the Coordinator for Gifted and Talented pupils. To assist the Executive Headteacher/Head of School in ensuring inclusive practice is developed to promote the highest standards of pupil achievement for all.

Requirements

Teaching and learning:
- Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for pupils with SEN and share approach with colleagues.
- Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEN.
- Identify and teach study skills that will develop pupils' ability to work independently.
- Liaise with other SCE agency schools/local schools and those in the UK to ensure continuity of support and learning when transferring pupils with SEN.
