Stadium Turf Specialist (Football World Cup) - Doha, Qatar

The position will require close coordination, alignment, and communication among the SC departments and Technical teams, as well as other key stakeholders.

Duties of the role will include:
- Development of a coherent strategy for the delivery, management and legacy for all the pitches that will be used as part of the World Cup
- Responsibility for the management of internal team and external consultants necessary for the delivery of the agreed strategy
- Responsibility for the management of the budget allocated to the strategy including staffing and other resources
- Develop training regimes for staff to ensure consistency across all the pitches used for the Tournament
- Consideration of the most appropriate technologies relating to pitch grass types and construction
- Be responsible for the development of policy and requirements for the pragmatic delivery of all the assets that are necessary to meet the requirements of the Tournament across multiple venue management models

Requirements

As a successful candidate you will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and will be a qualified member of a recognized institution or organization in relation to pitch management. You will have at least 20 years of relevant experience including working on major sporting events and will be able to demonstrate a progressive career within the field of pitch design and technical development and management. Proven experience in managing project budgets will also be essential.

Your experience would ideally include:
- Determination and management of project budgets
- development and implementation of large schemes across multiple venues and stakeholders working on major sporting events (preferred)
- Gulf State region experience (Qatar, Dubai, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia) would be highly desirable
- The ability to speak Arabic (preferable but not essential)
