Role overview:

The substation engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design review, technical validation, and execution support of high-voltage (HV) substation projects ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV. This role ensures engineering integrity, compliance with international standards, and effective coordination across multidisciplinary teams during all project phases.

Key responsibilities:

Review and verify engineering designs, technical specifications, and drawings for GIS and AIS substations (132u2013400 kV).

Conduct comprehensive design reviews for major substation components including GIS, power transformers, CTs/VTs, reactors, busbars, OLTCs, and auxiliary AC/DC systems.

Ensure compliance with IEC 62271 and other relevant international standards throughout the design and execution phases.

Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT), providing technical input and validation.

Coordinate with civil, mechanical, cable, and protection & control teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of substation systems.

Support site execution and commissioning activities, ensuring technical issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

Review and interpret HV testing procedures and results, including sensitivity and partial discharge (PD) tests, ensuring alignment with project and regulatory requirements.

Contribute to technical documentation, reporting, and interface management across stakeholders.

Requirements:

Bacheloru2019s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-voltage substation projects, particularly in design review and execution support.

Proven expertise in GIS and AIS substation systems, power transformers, OLTCs, NERs, and auxiliary systems; substation earthing and protection systems; HV testing standards including PD and sensitivity tests.

Strong understanding of IEC 62271 and related standards.

Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural project environment.
