Job description / Role
The System Interface / Integration Specialist Engineer provides expertise to identify design and construction interfaces and develop a resolution strategy to minimize the impact of identified interfaces on the overall program delivery.
This position is focused on monitoring, tracking, and assessing interfaces and work closely with the design, construction and contracts teams to identity the most effective and economical way to resolve them.
Liaise with the Contracts team regarding ability to transfer work between construction packages. Supervision of the access and handover process between Civil and Systems contractors.
Performs engineering reviews of the interfaces and provides technical assessments and recommendation to agree then demonstrate closure of interfaces.
Interfaces and coordinates with the design consultant(s) when proposed interfaces/design change documentations are not fully compliance in order to expedite the review and approval process.
Present and escalate critical interfaces to management to ensure timely resolution.
Works closely with the Construction Management Team to assess impact of identified interfaces on the delivery of construction work.
Performs interface engineering assessment and coordinates the review with other project team members to facilitate a comprehensive analysis.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of related work on rail systems projects. Must have a broad general technical and construction background to facilitate the design change assessments in a timely manner.
Proven ability to perform in a technical capacity, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.
