Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Assist the company in reaching their goals through audit, tax, advisory, risk assessment and provide recommendations based on the gained information.
• Strategically participate in due diligence and structuring related to new openings, mergers & acquisition and divestures.
• Research the implications of tax laws and advise on tax related issues to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Critically review on the application and Interpretation of the country’s tax code and their implementation.
• Provide support in order to minimize task risks associated with business operations and dealings.
• Audit internal controls for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in development and implementation of tax strategies.
• Research and develop tax-saving strategies and develop recommendations.
• Staying updated on International Tax Laws and providing expert knowledge to concerned stakeholders.
• Overall review and control of state and federal returns for companies within Majid Al Futtaim Retail – Group.
• Supporting international Majid Al Futtaim Retail - companies in Tax related issues and recommend solutions.
• Plan, direct, and execute various tax projects.
• Facilitate resolution of tax audit exercises within the operating jurisdiction.
• Proposes to Department Head the yearly budget for relevant area and ensures the respect of the approved budget.
• Guide financial planning department to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions and support reflecting tax calculations in the finance models.
• Ensure company's annual earnings, expenditures and investments are reported with accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile tax data on financial statements.
• Track income and assets taxes

Requirements

• Time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent knowledge of MS office and administrative skills.
• Awareness of counties laws, rules and regulations.
• English (Full professional proficiency - Required); Arabic (Limited working proficiency - Preferred).
• Minimum Experience:
• 5+ years in similar function.
• 2+ years in Retail Business in country with taxation preferred.
• Minimum Qualifications/education:
• Bachelor Degree or above in Commerce / Economics / Finance with a certification as a CA, CPA, CTA, or other certification relevant to tax specialization
