Technology Services Controller - Qatar Airways - Doha

Job Purpose:
• Responsible for planning, implementing and managing the Windows technology architecture including capacity planning, Availability planning and Supplier management of infrastructure products to meet the business needs of QR and its subsidiaries worldwide.
• To development and implement the computing infrastructure standards of Qatar Airways IT and ensure that they are adhered to at all data storage sites of Qatar Airways IT network
• To manage and direct the effective use of existing Windows technologies including Active Directory Services, Hyper-V & Citrix Infrastructure.

Job Profile:
• Ensure that systems are fully maintained to the high level of operational capabilities.
• Planning / Designing and implementation of systems at Qatar Airways and enhancement to have maximize benefit out of it.
• Planning / Designing and implementation of Disaster Recovery environment for Business applications.
• Provide day to day project management support for Business Application Support team to ensure successful project deliver to Business need.
• Conduct periodic health check, upgrades and enhancement to existing systems including Qatar Airways Active directory, Windows OS, Hyper-V and Citrix infrastructure
• Create operational delivery and project plans for TS projects and manage them to deliver on time within in agreed budget.
• Ensures for the availability, continuity and security of Active Directory & Windows servers.
• Ensure individual and team performance directly contributes to effective IT service delivery, system maintenance and business projects delivery, and supports the wider objectives of the business.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software, and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications.
• Provide technical consultancy and guidance to the team members, other technical teams, Support teams and Information Services teams. Overall responsibility for maintaining the relationship with external suppliers. Also responsibility for ensuring optimized usage of licenses, contract ownership and execution.
• Responsible for minimizing negative impact on the Business and for ensuring efficient root cause analysis to avoid reoccurrence of incidents.
• Manage the development, design, maintenance and documentation of all the technology products

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma level qualification.
• 8+ years of total IT experience and minimum 3 years in infrastructure planning & designing.

Training & Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Certification in ITIL Foundation (ITIL)

Knowledge and skills:
• Knowledge of technology domains in multiple disciplines, including systems, network, virtualization, cloud, backup, storage, etc.
• Knowledge and experience of data centre computing are strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems.
• Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure viz. Data Protection Management, system integration and implementations of state of art technology like Virtualizations, cloud
• Knowledge and understanding of information technology operations, responsibilities, processes and procedures.
• Knowledge on Windows based High Availability solutions.
• Skilled in troubleshooting for complex system in information systems management.
• Skilled & Experienced in Microsoft Active Directory Services, NLB, DFS and Citrix.
• Experienced in planning and designing Infrastructure services and deployment architecture for business applications.
• Knowledge of IT documentation.
