Job description / Role
The Trade Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Trade Finance Department to ensure high level of productivity, quality and efficient operations while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures and QCB guidelines.

The Trade Finance Manager will be responsible for the following:
* Implements effective communication of unit objectives across the unit and the creation of a line of sight between individual jobholders and the unit strategy. Ensure that the departmental policies are developed, reviewed, updated and maintained to align the operational activities to the bank's policies.
* Contribute to the preparation of the departmental budget and monitor the budget performance during the course of the year. Interact and coordinate with the Corporate team to maximize customer relationships and increase business.
* Ensure the security of the Bank's financial and physical assets pertaining to Trade Finance by checking the adequacy of documentation obtained, ensuring that the bank is not exposed to any undue risk in handling the Trade Finance business and follow-up on the updates to TI systems.
* Ensure any discrepancies, claims or disputes are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
* Approve reports (including risk and audits) for Head of Operations and QCB required.
* Authorize transactions for Bills of Collection, lodging of Bills, amendments, releasing of documents, acceptance, tracers, shipping guarantee in order to ensure they meet with the bank's rules and regulations.
* Act as the authorizing signatory for all documents relating to trade finance operations, Letter of Credit and Guarantees as per the bank's rules and regulations regarding authorisations.

Requirements
* University Graduate /Bachelor Degree in Business / Trade Financ
* 6-9 years' experience in a similar role of progressive complexity
* Thorough knowledge of banking operations and Trade Finance products
* Thorough knowledge of local and international Trade Finance regulations
* Advanced knowledge in report writing
* Advanced data analysis
* Working knowledge of IT applications
* Advanced communication skills
