Transportation Engineer

Job description / Role

• Provide road and traffic design inputs for First and Last Mile solutions
• Lead development and delivery of access mode requirements for Station Area
• Plans for Metro Stations of Phase 1 A and other subsequent phases of Doha Metro and Lusail Tram
• Design review of SAP works for Section 2 and 3 of Metro
• Design review of Lusail Tram SAP works
• Interface with key internal stake holders and external stakeholders (MOTC, Ashghal etc.) to ensure that all the requirements of Station Area Plans are met
• Actively participate in development of Station Mobility Plan covering up to 2 km catchment of the station
• Design review of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure requirements
• Assess the site-conditions and propose appropriate type of feeder bus stops for the proposed feeder bus routes
• Ensure that all the metro stations are safely accessible by disabled people, pedestrians, cyclists, taxis, buses and private cars
• Review highway and station area way finding signage related to metro and tram project
• Interpret junction analysis results and develop workable mitigation measures
• Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers and other team members

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
• Master Degree in Transportation Engineering
• Highway Engineer with a good understanding of traffic analysis and planning concepts
• Understanding of Road Safety Audits
• In depth knowledge of Qatar Highway Design Manual and Qatar Traffic Control Manual
• In-depth understanding of Qatar and International Accessibility Standards
• Software Skills: AutoCAD, Civil 3D (or equivalent), Auto Turn, Visum and Vissim
