Job description / Role
An international EM venture capital fund is looking to build a greenfield platform in Doha. As a result, the firm are seeking an experience Partner to lead the launch and fund operations. This fund aims to deploy capital into a range of start-ups across the GCC and wider MENA region at Pre-seed and Series A.
The Partner for the region and MENA Fund will be responsible for build out and development of the fund’s platform in the region. This will include building investment strategy and mandates, growing the investment and ops team, fundraising and stewarding successful incubation and launch of the fund.
This will be a very hands-on role and the opportunity to build a leading fund in the GCC’s VC ecosystem, having a tangible effect on driving start up growth and developing the new wave of GCC founders. The firm have a commercial first approach to investing which is underlined by impact/ prosperity principles.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have 12+ years VC investment experience, ideally with 5 years being in the MENA region. Having a solid understanding of the region’s start up landscape is critical alongside strong relationships with LPs in the region. Arabic speaker is also essential for this position.
