Job description / Role
Objectives: Ensure all products in and out of the Warehouse are handled and stored in designated locations, safely and in an efficient manner. Responsible for picking of items for delivery as well as replenishment for shop floor.
Main responsibilities:
• Report any damages or issues to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately and action any rectification procedures as identified
• Proactively assesses products for any damages
• All products are assembled properly and without any damage
• Ensure orders for customer delivery, assembly and store replenishment are picked correctly and placed in the corrected designated area for dispatch
• Pick customer collection items quickly and efficiently when requested by the Warehouse Stock Coordinators
• Know the fabrics, textiles, woods and materials of furniture sold in the Store. Maintain an up to date knowledge of products, especially with regards to handling and care of the products, in addition to any special Features and Benefits (F.A.B’s)
• Complete all receipts and dispatch stock in a timely manner
• Ensure orders for customer delivery, assembly and store replenishment are pricked correctly and placed in the correct designated area for dispatch
• All picked items are packaged to a high standard in order to avoid damage in transit
• Pick customer collection items quickly and efficiently when requested by the Warehouse Stock Coordinators
• Loading and unloading duties followed when required utilizing safe working practices and by ensuring safety of products at all times
• Store all products in designated locations, safely and in an efficient manner
• Store products into the correct locations as directed by Warehouse Supervisor
• Inform Warehouse Stock Coordinator on bin to bin transfers when products are relocated within the warehouse
• Provide support and assistance to other Team members
• Display positive professional attitude consistently and provide assistance to the Team
Travel requirements: frequent travel for which transportation is provided.
Requirements
University Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent
Nature and length of previous experience: 2-3 years of experience in furniture retail/ warehousing
