Workers Welfare Officer (fixed term contract until January 2023)

Reporting Line:

Workers' Welfare Officer (WWO)

What you will be doing:

- Employee induction and training on rights and access to remedies
- Documenting, investigating, and resolving employee' issues across the accommodation or work site
- Serve as a Chairperson at the Workers' Welfare Forums (WWF)
- Maintain a strong relationship with all team members
- Provide orientation and trainings to sub-contractor representatives
- Ensure maintenance of databases on the audit platform
- Maintain logs for complaints and resolutions
- Perform monthly self-inspections
- Facilitate fire and emergency medical drills together with the Group Director Welfare, Security and Safety
- Facilitate inspections by the Supreme Committee, Ministry of Labour, and external stakeholders
- Conduct announced inspection in accommodation or work site to identify health and fire safety issues and suspicious activities
- To suggest measures which will serve to raise the standard of living of employees and in general promote their well-being

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Experience in accommodation or work site welfare set up
- Basic first aid training
- Good interpersonal skills to engage with employees in a dynamic environment
- Computer skills: MS Office
- Good command of the English language (written and spoken)
- Any additional language is a plus
- At least 1 year experience as a workers welfare officer
