Qualifications and experience required

Bachelor's degree in engineering.

Eight years of relevant engineering experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry, with broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.

Technical and business skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a project management team.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, and electrical disciplines.

Activities

• Provide follow-on engineering support to the fabrication yard to support construction, commissioning activities, and close out of engineering.
• Review contractor engineering site queries and red line markup of engineering deliverables to support as-building activities.
• Provide on-site technical guidance and act as engineering interface between fabrication site and engineering design office to resolve site engineering issues.
• Participate in key design workshops and ensure that workshop recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed (lessons learned, value engineering, HAZIDs, etc.).
• Coordinate with subject matter experts regarding the disciplines involved in delivery of the topsides and ensure endorsement of technical deviations to company specifications when required.
• Ensure contractor follows management of change procedures with respect to any design changes initiated from the field.
• Attend FATs/SATs and support field commissioning activities.
• Coordinate and develop procedures for smooth handover of equipment packages to operations.
• Ensure on-time issuance of engineering deliverables to support site activities.
