The opportunity
Project: A multi-project assignment in excess of $350m working within a clients organisation to support the delivery of a 6 civils and infrastructure developments, including a 200km roads scheme. Helping the local employer’s grow and improve their own systems, to meet the demands of a rapidly developing local industry.
This is an opportunity to bring your civil engineering experience and international best practice approach to provide additional support to the Rwandan client and contractors, while soaking up the rich experience of living and working in a new environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• The role encompasses a wide range of site-based responsibilities, including but not limited to quality control, project management, tendering, planning and project engineering.
• Development of management systems including document control procedures and company policies to better streamline the employer’s businesses.
• Working with the project director in controlling and managing elements of the project to enable the project to be delivered to the agreed budget, time and quality standards required.
• Assisting in producing project reports for issue to client on a weekly and monthly basis, on project progress and performance, supporting the development of strategic programmes.
• Ensuring the project HS&E plan is being adhered to and all environmental requirements are being met.
• Driving the adoption of safety management processes including reporting of issues and reviewing the contractor method statements/risk assessments.
• Managing the project functions and supporting the project director on commercial aspects of the project assisting the commercial manager/quantity surveyor with project information.
Requirements
About you
• You have a relevant degree qualification.
• You are digitally savvy and can build lasting trusted, collaborative client relationships with clients, consultants and contractors in the project environment.
• You will have a proven track record on a diverse spectrum of projects that may include roads, heavy infrastructure, mining infrastructure, oil and gas or commercial projects in Africa or overseas.
